Following the start of operations at the Lakem Support Foundation, the development of the brand's visual identity was imminent, as the impact of its absence had been felt pre- and post-launch. We got an understanding of which set of people the foundation intends to target, and built the identity around what functions appropriately, while it still appeals to them.
This logo is based on the Bookmark icon. Although still related, the literal meaning of the Bookmark did not birth the framework of this logo, instead, the usage of the icon to represent an act of "Saving" was the major consideration had for this iconmark. Two bookmark illustrations are made to replace two longitudinal sections on an illustration of the earth globe, having the aim to express the lengths to which the vision at the Lakem Support Foundation covers...aiding futures around the world.
A group of five (5) icons were created and tailored to the identity of Lakem, in such a way that they retained the bookmark material of the identity. These icons are used as unique identifiers of the kinds of content that would be put out by Lakem, cutting across all forms of media. They represent: People, Statistics, Contact/Accessibility, Quotes/Words, and Partnerships.
A defining piece in the entire visual identity, the Lakem Patterns foster an exciting cohesion between all visual assets created. It employs the skeleton of the bookmark icon, and every colour on the Lakem colour palette, making it bear the foundation's personality in one piece.
